| Boy, what a trip this turned out to be! We knew there was a chance
of snow when we headed up to the great state of Iowa, but had no idea it would turn out to be a BLIZZARD (to a
trio of Mississippi boys)! We headed out Thursday, Feb. 18. All the weather was cool until about the Iowa state
line. A few flurries here and there . . . until we reached our destination! I'd say there was about 1 to 1 1/2
feet of snow. Now to all of you up north, that's nothin', but we saw the biggest snowfall of our lives. |
| Of course, we couldn't brave a snowstorm without getting stuck
somehow! We thought we had missed the church and decided to turn around in a drive way . . . big mistake! We had
almost made it when the van started to slide and we bogged down in the snow and mud. About the time we started
fretting about the situation, a super-nice man (who looked amazingly similar to Santa Claus) drove by in his 4X4
and pulled us out. We promptly headed back to town to find a guide to the church! |
| We almost decided not to have the sing on account of all the
snow. Iowans (I think that's right) don't give up that easily though. They plowed the road to the church and got
the word out and we had us a good singin'! |
| Well, I'm sure you're thinkin' "I wish I could have seen
that!" Well, you can. We managed to get some shots in, so here they are. |
